Competitive Cost
A recent study found Milwaukee's water and wastewater rates are highly competitive regionally and nationally. The study, commissioned by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Association of Commerce (MMAC), the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works, and the MMSD, analyzed water and wastewater rates charged to industrial users in the Milwaukee area.

Milwaukee ranked 1st for lowest cost potable water and sewer service charges for typical process wastewater industrial customers among 16 "comparable metro" areas.
Milwaukee ranked 3rd for lowest cost water and sewer service charges for those same customers when compared to 20 other Midwest metro areas.
Milwaukee ranked seventh for lowest cost water and sewer service for medium-sized process industries when compared to the 14 "least expensive" U.S. metropolitan areas.
